My neighbors Lab has just been diagnosed with 'cruciate ligament' and is getting ready to have surgery this next week. I have a Rattie and was wondering does this occur very often in our beloved breed? thanks Stevi

is it a torn cruciate ligament? I have yet to see or hear about it in a Rattie. Have seen it in some Labs, a Heeler and a few Cockers. But then again I am relatively new to this breed so I don't know a whole lot!

I've never heard of that...the only thing I've heard of ratties needing surgery for is luxating patella. welcome to the site! we'd love to see pics of your rattie!
