Luna has gone to the rainbow bridge. I am posting this picture so you can see what she was like in her younger days. She was the light of my life.
My little Egypt was an afterthought to Luna - I know that is sacreligious here - but the reason I got Egypt was that Luna had lost her hearing and I felt I needed a dog that could hear for my own security reasons.
She went peacefully.
The vet said she most likely had a tumor in her spleen that had ruptured which was causing internal bleeding, thereby making her stumble a lot and causing her loss of appetite.
I know she is at peace now. |

I am so blessed to have Egypt right now. I don't know what I would do if I were all alone.
She has not really noticed Luna's absence, but I am sure tomorrow morning when Egypt jumps off the bed and runs to Luna's bed (I can't bring myself to move it yet) she will notice that someone is missing. |

To say many of us have been and will be where you *are* right now, probably won't help.... but it's true. She looks so comfortable and secure laying in front of your wonderful fireplace... she belonged with you for sure! I agree -- snuggle Egypt close tonight and be thankful for the time you had with Luna. I do wish God had seen fit to give our furry friends longer lifespans...

You gave her a happy, safe, comfortable life and now she will always be happy, safe, and comfortable. I'm so sorry and I know the only thing that can make you feel better is time. Let us know if you need anything.

One of the Hardest things for our mind to wrap around, the loss of the animal that was always at our side.

My heart goes out to you. I know what you are feeling, having euthanized our Lab a little over a year ago. I promise you that soon the emptiness you are feeling now in your heart will start to be replaced with your wonderful memories. You will always miss her, but the pain gets easier. I'm glad you have your Egypt to help you through. We love each of our dogs in different ways, but we do love each of them. |
