I may need to invest in a bulk purchase of hair dye - LOL. I only have one or two occasional gray hairs, but my daughter just got her driver's permit today!
In Ohio you can do so at 15 1/2 years of age - and today is the EXACT day she turns 15 1/2!!! She's been counting down on the calendar.
Keep in your thoughts, LOL, that all goes well. We went through it a couple of years ago with our son, but Mary is so much more dramatic / emotional about things than he is. |

| Have you given her any driving lessons yourself yet? With my now 19 yr old daughter, I would take her out, and let her drive my automatic Honda Civic, that she still has, and she would stop too far back at the stop signs, and pull out really fast, and shove it into park, before the car stopped in the driveway...Stock up on Ibuprophen, girlfriend! |

Yes, she learned in Atlanta and so has never been intimidated by traffic anywhere...even LA! LOL
She actually did ok. Her only accident was after she got the regular license and was driving her own car...a bus stopped suddenly in front of her and she tried to pull around it...looked beside and behind for cars but miscalculated how close she was to the bus. Didn't hurt the bus or her but ruined her car's radiator. |

No....she wasn't allowed behind the wheel until today. She has driven, as most kids here do at some point, on back roads while sitting on Mike or I's lap. Reminds me that technically, our son Michael put his first car in a ditch at age 10 or so She also has driven the golf cart at the lake alot and she and Michael had a go-cart for the back field a few years ago, so she has a kind of "understanding" of the mechanics of accelerator and brake, etc. I'm thinking something stronger than Ibuprofen may be in order LOL |

| My daughter has had two speeding tickets, and one accident, where a Dodge Ram, quad cab rear ended her, in a turning lane. The bumper is all that got hurt, thank goodness! Insurance paid for it to be fixed. The first ticket she got, she said, " I don't think it is really a ticket, cause it says citation...", ha! Now she cannot take the class again, because it has been twice in one year. |

I survived two sons learning to drive. My hair is completely gray under the hair dye, though. We did parent-taught drivers ed with the oldest son, and we would have paid any amount of money to send the second son to a real drivers ed school. |

I didn't get gray hair when the kids were learning to drive because I was to busy Pulling it Out. My daughter ignored an ambulance as she came up to an intersection. I screamed STOP! She did stop and would you believe? I Got The Look !! |

OMG! Tracey....Kev and I were just talking the other night about how in only FIVE more years we'll have one driving...in NC you get your learner's permit at 15. I am already scared out of my mind. I think you need to stock up on LOT'S of VODKA (for AFTER the training sessions!!) I did great when I had my permit...the only hickup was when I left my Dad sitting in the middle of our road b/c he kept yelling at me while I was TRYING to get a 1970 Luv P/u truck into first gear...with NO power steering!!) My middle sister actually had her first wreck while still having her learner's permit, but my baby sister did absolutely PERFECT..........so there you go, it can go LOT'S of ways!!!!!!!!! Please know that I am here ANYTIME you need to call and cry/laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Luv ya sweetie!!! |

| lol i knew how to drive an automatic @ 12, standard by 14 and learned how to drive a motorcycle last year when i was 19. My dad and I were home alone when i was 12 and he fell off a ladder and broke a few ribs. He was a EMT so I called one of his coworkers and they sent an ambulance out, but after that he wanted me to be able to drive any kind of vehicle in an emergency |
