I'll bet some of the animals are so broken that they need socialization before they can be allowed for adoption. We looked at a pair of bichons rescued from a puppy mill shortly before we adopted Hendryx. Bichons have such outgoing and friendly personalities. These, which had been used as a breeding pair, were so broken that they didn't even respond to an offer of a doggy treat. I think that there should be a particularly hot place in hell for breeders like that.

His name is Hendryx! He's a rat terrier! OK!
