So Diane, Yogi's Mom, had a mishap with her new car on the way to meet Cheryl in Savannah to pick up Beacan and bring him to me.  She ran over a bungee cord that ruined a tire and scaped some paint and broke a tail light.  She got AAA out there and got the tire fixed and made the rendevous with Cheryl nonetheless.

Then she get Beacan down here to me....we get the dogs introduced (during a rain storm) and she goes up to her hotel.  We got to meet up and walk most of the dogs which was nice.  Then she goes back to her hotel...and finds a female rat terrier running loose in the street!!  So she calls me and just luckily I realize this little dog looks like a dog in one of the houses I walk by sometimes.  So we   walk on down there and sure enough it's their dog....they didn't even seem worried she was gone...just said she gets out every time it rains.  Rabies tag was from 2005!

So...Diane has worked hard for rat terriers today!  I think she deserves that glass of wine on the veranda overlooking the river tonight.

Yea, glad she made it safely to you!! She was worried about keeping mom and I waiting but we were fine. Our return trip was not so fraught but we did drive through several patches of rain so heavy, I couldn't see the road. Fortunately that didn't last long. So four hours later, here we are at home.

Tomorrow I get my babies and we await the next trip!!

I was tempted to head down with Diane, esp when she was talking about balconies, feet up, good times!!

She is an awesome lady, wish we could have had more time to visit! I hope she is totally relaxed now and she and Yogi are having a nice evening!!

Thanks MB for the care you are giving to so many fosters. Beacan is a real sweetie.

I think all three of you should be commended for what you all do for our fine furry rattie friends. Sorry Diane has so many mishaps, but she looks happy in the wonderful picture! Thanks to ALL of you !

Awww...you are sweet MB! But YOU are the Heroine...I just drove a car!
And yeah...the scratches and dents were going to happen one day...better sooner than later I suppose! Just wish I hadn't been so late and Cheryl & her Mom could have seen Savannah!
Cheryl showed me some GREAT pics of her gorgeous babies....that was nice!!!

Really had fun in St Mary's...such a tranquil and beautiful place! Have always loved that town!

Was fun seeing the Cemetary and other parts with MB and her crew...Beacan was a good boy and finally seemed to like Yogi (didn't like him at first in Savannah!)

Was pretty sad about the Rattie we "rescued" off the St Mary's streets...the owners didn't even notice she was gone!!!! (I ALMOST snuck by to steal her this a.m. before I left...hehheh!)  Lucky for them she wasn't in the yard...hehheh!She was a cutie pie too.

Later that eve Yogi and I sat on the big Veranda and watched people and dogs (luckily with owners this time!) walk by.
I enjoyed my BIG glass of wine!!! and my Fresh Almond-crusted Grouper dinner  across the street.....

As A bag-piper played over on the park sea wall as the sun set...turned out to be the perfect eve!

We had breakfast (Killer Greek Omelet) at Riverside Cafe ...Yogi played with the resident Yellow Lab while I ate.

Then we went to Fernandina Beach and found shells, and Yogi played and chased birds and swam in the surf (nice that they let dogs on the Beach...Tybee (ARRGGH where I live!) doesn't!

THEN....as I was driving back home, down the main street back to my house late this afternoon, a young Black Lab (female) was running down the middle of the street...no collar. Looking "lost"...........cars swerving around her.........

SO...guess what's in MY back yard right now!!!
UGH! A (SMELLY) big black lab who's owners have not called yet!!!  (I called the local police and gave them my #)
CROSS your fingers someone calls for her!!!!!!!

I do NOT want any more Labs (much as I adored my two)..Yogi has spoiled me durnnit!

ANYONE want a very sweet, pretty shiny female Lab???? About 2 yrs old...??? Purty Please!!!!!!?

And...MB...rescue trips or not...I'll be working St Mary's into my plans in the very near future!!! So stay in touch!!!

Sorry I'll be out of town for Sorley's trip North...

UPDATE! The Foundling Black lab has been found! YAY!

His very distraught owner came and got him (Whew! Sigh of relief!)

Apparently he's a lock-picker on backyard gates...I had one of those!( Had to use Bicycle locks.)

So THAT saga is over... Now...for a BIG glass of wine....

Haha - glad the lab went home. I was wondering if you'd sneak back for that girlie rattie! Had fun, hopefully we'll hook up again....hardly anybody comes to St. Marys to see me! (Ya think maybe it's all the barking dogs....?) LOL

Well! It sounds like your evening definitely made up for your morning! Sounds heavenly!! I am definitely gonna have to figure out how to get down to St. Mary's!! good food, pipers, great people with adorable munchkin dogs, what more could you ask for!!

It was great meeting you Diane, wish we could have had more time to visit. I'm glad Beacan finally decided to like Yogi. Poor Yogi wasn't used to not being liked! He is such an adorable dog too. Anytime you need him to have a vacation, you can send him north to me!! (and of course you are invited too!!)

As Mary Beth and I were talking on the phone, I sure wish we had some way to just instantly transport us all to a great spot so we could all play together with our ratties! I am so saving money between now and April, cause I am going to jamboree this next year!!

Glad the lab's family found him/her

Everyone take care!!
