I heard from Pami about an hour ago---she was in Oxford, Al waiting for her contact person to show up and take the next leg of the trip. Mama dog and all 8 babies are doing fine, and she also is transporting another little Rattie girl with the others---so she is playing taxi to 10 dogs today! 
Pami said that the mama is VERY protective of the babies, so she didnt try to hold any of them, because she might need all her fingers later to drive back home
These little puppies are so very lucky to have made it out of that shelter. |

I wil not forget them! It's all I keep coming back here to check on! Thanks for the update. I've been so worried about these babies. I pray that they all make it. They are the cutest little spotted babies and Mama does look better after her bath. She has a lot of ticking. Can you imagine having 8 babies all at once? Poor thing just has to be worn out. Take good care of her all my Ratbone friends! Thanks Pami and Happy 4th of July! |

OMG let me tell y'all something.... that was hard!! Those itty bitty puppies were sooooo adorable and sweet and made the sweetest little baby noises and I wanted them all. I fell in love with a solid white girl.. well except one ear is black.. Only mama Liberty didn't want us messing with her babies so we obeyed her wishes and left them alone. She is such a beautiful dog and such a good mama. I am so happy for all of them.
now the other little dog... nameless as of yet... really stole my heart. She was a petite little thing with the most loving nature. She wanted to be held and cuddled. Terry, the lady that drove from Atlanta to pick them up was still lovin on her when we left them. And I think Debbie must have spoiled them all while she had them. All ten of them were simply precious and I feel so honored to have been able to help in this small way. (((SIGH))) all in all it was a great day.  |

I had no idea that Ratties had that many puppies. When I heard she had 8 and hadn't yet seen the photos, I kinda sssumed that they might be mixed with a breed that tends to have more puppies; however, after looking at these photos they look rattie. They are so cute. It sure brings out the maternal instincts. Look at those pink feet!
