It's wonderfully peaceful here this morning.  Why?  Because I gave the pups each a bone.  Many of you know we feed raw.  Well one of the favorite treats I give the dogs is a slice of a raw beef femur bone complete with marrow.  GREAT for their teeth.  They all start in the kitchen on towels until the marrow and all assorted yucky bits are gone.  Once the bones are clean they can take them to their respective 'spots' for further chewing and teeth cleaning.  I haven't heard a peep in about 2 hours!

First shot is a photo of the slices I am talking about.  They are about an inch thick and range from 2-3 inches wide.

Next the very very busy chewers, too busy to notice even the camera:

I think it is funny how they each have their own special posture for bone chewing.

Gwacie, that is so cute! We feed those too, can I ask, do you cook yours first before giving??

Look at Georgie, that boy stole my heart.

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too

No, I never feed cooked bones, Val. Only raw. Though on the femurs the cooked would probably be ok because they are not prone to splintering but some bones get very sharp and hard when cooked and splinter which is dangerous.

I'd be quiet too if you put one of those in my mouth! LOL
Seriously, these are great for their teeth as you already know. I was just comparing The Nut to Georgie... one with a lot of black spots and lots of ticking and one who is almost solid white with no ticking!
These doggies come in all markings, don't they?
Nice pics, Bethany...
