Okay, put your thinking caps on and start sewing, shopping, gluing -- whatever it takes to get your pups ready for Trick or Treat. Our annual Halloween Costume Contest is upon us.
Rules:
1. This is NOT a photo contest. Of course, photos are involved to post your pup in costume, but the judging is strictly on the costume!
2. One entry per member, per dog. (For example, if there are two members with two dogs, each member may enter each dog.) You may enter the pups in one photo -- so, if you put two dogs in one photo, that is the entry for both dogs --- or you may enter each dog in an individual photo. This gives every dog/member a chance to enter.
3. Voting will occur as usual, with PM's to me (Katie'sMom).
4. Entries must be posted by Sunday, October 21.
5. Voting will occur on Monday and Tuesday, October 22 and 23, ending at midnight on Oct. 23.
6. Winner will be announced on Wednesday, October 24.
7. Winning banner will be posted the week of Halloween.
I think I've covered everything -- but feel free to ask questions or point out if I've missed something.

Well, I'm open for suggestions if y'all want to change the dates. I was just trying to get this done in time for a Halloween banner. Any ideas? |

| Aww thank you Deb. We just hoped we could enter in both of them. Cuz we wanted to work really hard this year on the costumes.But 10 days before halloween is gonna probably be way to early for us. Since we live 2 hrs apart. |

Jan-I don't wanna make you change it if you need the time to make the banner. I understand you need the time to do that.
I am open to suggestions -- I am leaving town on Thursday, October 25 or Friday, Oct 26 and will be back on Sunday, Oct 28. We can make it later if it works for you all. Someone else can get the PM's and someone else can make the banner. If everyone would prefer to make it closer to Halloween, then that is fine with me. I am not the boss of contests!  I am the organizer! I will be happy for someone else to tabulate the votes and make the banner. Doreen is making this month's contest banner. Perhaps the winner can do the Halloween one -- or Kim, or Morgan or Doreen. I was just trying to get it done in time to get the votes counted and a banner done.
If someone will step forward and volunteer to do this one, we can move it closer to Halloween, if that is everyone's preference. We just need some sort of dates so everyone will know when to be ready. Thanks! |

I don't want anyone to be left out, but I would also like the banner to at least be up a few days before the day of Halloween. I was hoping to have a banner up on the 26th or 27th and that only gives time for the banner to be up 3-4 days. I don't know...  |

| Oh no! Have the contest in time to make the banner. It will be fun to see all the pups any way. Just hate to think some folks will be left out because of timing, but that's how it is. I know you need time to get everything done. Counting votes etc. Then having to make the banner too. Didn't mean for it to sound like you should change the contest. |

Okay, I think we will just leave the contest as planned. I'm sorry if the dates don't work for everyone -- that is going to happen from time to time for any contest. But, I think the consensus is that the banner needs to be ready by the weekend prior to Halloween, so we can have it up for a few days.
Jules, I hope you will still post pictures of your pups in costume. I plan on doing costumes for my girls and posting, even though I never allow myself to be eligible for voting. It's still fun! |
