Ivy just learn this today we started around 1 and have been working on it of and on for a few hours I am so impressed how fast she can learn!  Remember she is just 6 months old and just a tad distracted.

Good job Ivy!

Bijou was sitting in my lap and when the video of your dog came on, she jumped up and licked the computer screen. LOL

That's my baby girl, Bijou! She's a Toy Rat Terrier.

Same here Peggy. Ernie does the high five but only one swipe. Ivy does it with two swipes which is way cuter. Good Girl !

Peggy, funny story about Button...remember when you posted about her catching her first rat? Well, I was teasing Lacey about it, telling her that Button caught a rat, and when was she going to catch one...you know, she put her ears down and her tail tucked and looked so sad, I guess I hurt her feelings! I had to do some relationship repair, tell her she was a good hunter (okay, maybe not a "catcher", but she did make an effort)
Well, she still hasn't caught a rat or squirrel, but I praise her efforts. The new pup, Pokey, has a father that is quite a hunter, so we'll have to see if it has passed to her.

Also...I taught Toa the "paw" command....hes got it everytime now! Good boy!

Mary, is it not just the best when they get it! This "new" way of training has really impressed me cause she just is so pleased with her self when she figures out exactly what it is I am happy about I never did find that video link that showed the bow trick.

This book has really opened my eyes to a new and I have to say better method cause it really gets their minds involved in training and not just do as I say cause I say so! She is offering me stuff that I would have never imagined how to train like wipe her face, bowing, sneezes and a bunch of other stuff! It is just so cool to have my dog giving me new behaviors and then reinforcing them and then putting a command on them. It is just cool! I would like to train speak but she is not a barker so I am stuck on that one for now.

Mary I have never done the clicker training and it is an awesome book!!! Have not read any others but so far I still have LOTS to work on in it so I don't think I will be looking for another anytime soon! Ivy thinks I am nuts too when I try to bark at her!! The only time she barks is when a stranger is around!

Well......truth be told, I think Zipper actually did the shake-kill and dropped it.  Button siezed the opportunity to finish the little guy off!  You tell Lacey that Button and Zipper said will be cheering her on from now on!
