Oh darn! I stilll can't get it to work. I guess I'm gonna have to keep my original avatar. And I had such an adorable pic of Prince and Ozzy that i was going to use as my new avatar too. 

I just noticed that after I logged out and then logged back on the site my new avatar pic decides to show up. Well I guess that solves that problem. LOL!

Hi Aubrey, maybe the file size is too big.  There is are postings in RT.com Info and Help about avatars and photo posting, the avatar file size, I think it is the same limit as the attachment size, 125MB.  If you know how to resize your file, try that.  I might could give some other pointers, but don't want to sound like a know.-.-.  One thing to remember is if you change anything else on your profile, your avatar will go AWOL on you.  The moderators can be helpful and you'll most likely get a response from one of them.  HTH...

If it just showed up on it's own later I think the system had to go back and update your posts.  The more posts you have the longer it will take.  It probably works along the lines of each time you post an avatar a file is created with an new index to that file, your avatar.  Every posting must then have your avatar file index updated so it can display the correct image when it renders the page.  Then again I could be full of #2.  Techno-mumbo-jumbo
