Izzy started reverse sneezing last night around 9pm... I have never seen him do this before. I know its pretty normal for dogs to do this... but he was doing it through the night and has been today as well. He has done it like maybe 25-30 times since yesterday.. I'm worried it might turn to kennel cough as I brought him to work last weekend. He wasn't really exposed to any other dogs except for a few moments. There is no discharge or anything yet... and If I call the vet im gonna feel dumb  I guess if he keeps on doing it through the weekend I will bring him in on monday. I read somewhere there could be something stuck up his nose if its chronic?? Any info or tips?

I wouldn't feel dumb...I would call the vet if I was concerned. Abby does the reverse sneeze, but never like that. I hate Holiday weekends for any kind of medical problem...pets and people!

I don't know...mine have never done it that much. Sounds like maybe something really irritated his sinuses...
I wouldn't worry about feeling dumb if you decide to call the vet though...if I have any doubt about something I call or go in...my vet is used to it!

Eddie had a bad bout of it this spring. I gave him a benedryl (vet has prescribed this before) and rubbed his throat until he settled down. It was bad for 2 days.

Called the vet and made an appt for Monday... wish I could bring him in sat. but I have to work.
I was thinking it might be something stuck up his nose... he walks through shrubs and gets things all over his back and head... perfect size to get stuck up his snout! :S

Usually, if it's something up the nose, they sneeze (regularly) as hard as they can to expel the foreign object, very rarely do they do the reverse sneeze when something's up there. Too bad you have to wait until Monday to take him in. I hope it's nothing serious.

I spose, that does make sense  If it gets out of control I'm going to call the E-vet. I'm just nervous bc he has to be home alone for 8 hours on saturday and sunday  unless i want to take him to work and possibly expose him to kennel cough and all that grossness

I was thinking that may be a possibility as well, but no other symptoms..
He hasn't been doing the reverse sneezing as much as he was.

when I got peanut from the pound, he was reverse sneezing on and off,we took him to the vet before we even brought him home and he had mild kennel cough,I believe they gave him, chloritrimton & antibiotics,he had no runny nose or eyes he would just have these reverse sneeze episodes, he was tip top in 2 days time

Pixie does it occasionally. We call them the "whearf-snarf divvel-barks." Now I never said we were normal people, so if you're thinking we're weird, you're right.
Our vet says lots of things can cause it from a mild, unknown irritant, to an allergy, or even kennel cough. Usually a little Benadryl does the trick.
Sometimes Pixie gets on a roll and the only thing that will stop her is to blow in her face, like you might do to a baby to help it catch it's breath. It usually works...
