Subject: Worried about lump on Gyro's foot

Hi,

My little guy has this lump on his back foot.

It appeared last week. Its painful to the touch,

dome shaped with a tiny hole in the top. The vet

gave me some antibiotic cream for it. And I think

the doctor wrote histiocytomas on his appointment card.

He's only 18 months and it bothers me to see him in pain.

Has anyone heard of this?

did he make sure it is not a fox tail or a grass seed in it? Sometimes they can work in pretty deep. Is it draining anything from the hole?

The whole does form a scab.
If you remove the scab it bleeds a little.
They checked for objects inside.

ingrown hair? bee sting (stinger inside)? it could be anything foreign... if its swell up the object can bee very deep to see... try hot compresses... get teh selling down and bring the object out or hair/pimple to a head sorta speak...

another thought... ALERGIES!!! my shihtzu used to get "baloon" looking blister like lumps on her feet... she would lick them alot too!!! we used to have to put ointment daily... they would erupt and bleed... smelled bad.. .pretty nasty!!! it would happen in teh spring and fall... not sure if it was a pollen allergy or what... it formed onto of her foot on what would be the back of our palms... sometimes in the middle of the toes.
