So, I put the citronella bark collar on heath a bit ago....I immediately felt guilty. Here he is with this big grey box under his chin....it says they work for dogs over 6 lbs and I looked online and this is basically the only citronella collar for small dogs. anyways...the strap is tightened all the way. he just looked pitiful.....well.....of course, after a bit he barked...and i saw it..OMG I laughed out loud...but it was also sad at the same time, he ran across the room trying to get away from it. The second time he decided to go upstairs....he was not happy w/me. Julia said he shook his head and it sprayed again, so I will have to watch that.....
anyways...he came back down....and after a few minutes I wondered where he was. I knew he was hiding. I found him sitting in a little space beside the couch, hiding and shaking a bit. I took the collar off and he sat in my lap for awhile.
I think it will work, and I know it doesn't hurt him, but it is so sad to see our fur babies when they are sad or don't like something. It is either this, or I rip his barker out, which do you think is the best choice? yah, me too.
we do start manners 2 training on monday and the lady said we could teach him "all done" command. I will prob. try that as well. I dont want to keep the collar on him 24/7.
