Good morning,
New Rattitude has their first litter and 2 adorable puppies are looking or names. In order to defray the cost of vetting for these two we are having a "Name that puppy!" fundraiser. The first person to donate $100 to one of the puppies gets the naming rights.

With the recent mill bust I am positive that we will have MORE pups than just these two to name and the $ will really be needed.
Just a side note, naming a pup means just that, you get to name the pup, and does have any influence on adoption or future adoption/travel fees. |

Awesome! I can't wait to hear what you came up with. My husband picks most of the names in our house and its always interesting Star Wars Names or something he likes. |

The puppies, of course! You ask how they do that,? Just ask ours, they simply put a paw on a ink pad and then stand on the photo or a card. I got a Father's Day card signed by everyone in our pack.

I want to personally thank you Marilyn for donating to name the boy pup. He looks like his momma with the matching head stripe. So far I can tell you he likes to eat, sleep and he's the more vocal one so far, he lets out little whines when mommy messes with him, where the girl pup just goes along with the flow. I excited to hear what he is going to be named!
I can't wait to post some pictures as they begin to change. Being still only days old they don't look much different.

OK, well I hate to be a name hog, but I couldn't bear to see the little boy get a name and the little girl not have one. So, I just paypaled money so I could name her, too. (Hope no one is upset that I bought both chances.)
After much thinking, I have decided to name them Katie and Benny -- and here's why.
I'm a newspaper editor who got in this business because I saw the power of newspapers when The Washington Post's great work ultimately led to Nixon's resignation because of Watergate. I was just a kid then but knew from that moment on that journalism would be my career and my passion. (Along the way, I added rat terriers and Kenny Rogers as passions, too, but that's another story.)
So, Katie gets her name after Katharine Graham, who was the publisher of the Washington Post during Watergate, and Benny is named after Ben Bradlee, who was editor of the paper. (And would probably kill someone if they called him Benny!)
So, that's the story behind the two names.
