I just talked to my vet, and it's lookin like he'll take 1 or 2 to foster, also. HE IS AWESOME!! 
We can probably get 2 legs from you down in NYC, Mary, if this works out... one to Poughkeepsie and then either Michelle or I can meet them, but with all the dogs, we'll need people with vans..........or SUVs or something....... |

well Sue just called me and said that they have many dogs traveling to NY. I am in touch with my uncle in NY and hoping to go up on Saturday and stay with him that night and then meet up with my friends on Sunday. Looks like it may even be like 6 crates!!! WOW.....pretty neat that the timing worked out this way....amazing
would it be tacky or terrible to ask for donations for gas for this trip? it is going to be over 700 miles round trip that I wasnt planning on...I hate to ask, because i feel like it almost defeats the purpose of VOLUNTEERING, but times are so tight right now i just know I cant afford an extra 3 tanks of gas on top of normal. Maybe those of you who are too far away to help directly....grr...i feel bad, again because the money could be going directly to the dogs, vetting and such....sheeesh.... |

| there are over 100 ratties that were taken from a puppy mill in NC ....many of them need to get to NYC and I am taking a trip there this weekend and I have offered to take as many as I can...we are in GREAT need of foster and adoptive homes!!!! There are MANY posts about it in "rescue" if you want mroe specifics! |

YAY! Well, I told Sue that I could probaby fit about 6 crates. I could rent a van if necessary I guess and just turn it in in NY, cause I will ahve a ride home...but I dont know that I will need more than 6 crates because some of them can be in together, like i think there are some littermates. Potty breaks wil be interesting! LOL

oh...and...
Sue asked me if I could come on Saturday and I am more than willing to but I didnt have a place to stay Sat night and I cant afford a hotel...but...I have family in NY and CT so I am working on getting in touch with them. My uncle lives in bedford corners, NY but he will not be home and my grandmother and other uncle live in Bloomfield, CT so I will check with her. Then I can visit family and help ratties in one trip!
Sue, would the route to Bloomfield CT provide an ok meetup place possibly? |

awww man! bloomfield is EIGHT hours from me...that may be longer than I am comfortable driving by myself. 5-6 hours to NY may be my limit....hmmmm...my cousin lives in saratoga springs, ny but thats eight hours away too...darn!!!!....
