I can take them on Sunday and I can also keep them overnight on Saturday worse case scenario (it will be NUTZ) LOL |

I don't think we can get that specific, Mel. All Caroline is telling the shelter is that we can take males, females, preggers mommas, puppies, etc... I don't think we can get a specific dog like that... |

Sorry Mary, not yet. Michelle called me a few minutes ago and told me that there's a website from the shelter saying that in the first hour they were open today, 20 dogs got adopted locally... I'm trying to find the website, but no luck!! I forgot to ask her where she saw or heard that!
I promise, as soon as I hear anything about transport, you will be the very FIRST to know!!

Animal Lovers Line Up To Adopt Catawba County Dogs

NEWTON, N.C. -- Some people in Catawba County waited in line for more than an hour early Thursday to be the first to adopt dozens of dogs seized from a home earlier this week.
Animal Services officers removed more than 100 rat terriers from a home south of Newton because of unsanitary conditions. The animals’ owners signed over their rights to the dogs.
Animal Services waived the standard adoption fee Thursday in hopes of finding the dogs new homes.
In just the first hour, more than 20 dogs were adopted out from the Newton animal shelter.
Two animal rescue groups are also helping find homes for the animals.

I hope they did some screening on these homes, especially with waiving the adoption fee. Am I the only one that makes nervous? I am so sketchy on people!!  
val- i think in this situation the "benefit of the doubt" is in order... i dont think anyone would go adopt a dog from those conditions iwth mal intent... not to say its not possible... but yoiu would have to assume not... and anything is better than where they were... think good thoughts!!!!

I hope you're right, Gianni!! These dogs are absolutely UNSOCIALIZED... no human contact... they need major rehabilitation, love and safety... and possibly major vetting - we're not clear yet what kind of medical issues they may or may not have....... |
